Study the sound waves student questions. Test will be on Friday! You should have submitted your arrangements by now. If not, get it done and turned in. I am keeping my eye on those students who are playing video games. If you have finished your work, then read an article or link I have listed or find some on your own that relate to the music business.

Let's finish up your tracks on aviary or garageband and get them in. The idea is to submit something so that we have a process in place. And now, a little reading assignment about the recording studio. Just to give you a better idea of all the aspects of the studio and how it's used.

Okay. We have the Aviary program working on most of the PC's and I will set up the rest today. You should be bringing headphones to hear what you create on the recording program. Watch the video under the help menue to get an overview of the program. Ask for help if or when you need it. You can now create mixes and arrangements of loops even if you are not a musician. Have Fun! Doug

Good afternoon. Well, we are starting week three. Let's see if we can use some more software. Make sure you have all your work turned in first from the last two weeks. It will effect your grade in this class. Next, go check out this cool program. Aviary Try out the program and see what you can create. There are a lot of loops you just drag into place. This system of moving around recordings and or tracks is very common in the software we will be getting for the new Macs. Get familiar with it as it will help you later. Don't forget to save your recordings.

You guys were so much better yesterday. Almost everybody had their head down and was either reading the article or they were working on something related to music. Check out the new link for articles and online magazines here! Also, take a look at the links for the student sign up sheet you filled out. Finally, check out the Monkey Machine link to the left. Today I would like you to start to come up with 10 study questions and answers about sound waves or acoustics. The directions are on the worksheet. After you're done, email it to me at email@example.com. I will choose the best questions and make a master study sheet and a test from your research. It will be due next Wednesday so you have some time to come up with good questions.

Let's try this again. I was dissipointed that some of you were not mature enough to use the shared sheet on google docs. I have deleted the sheet you worked on so we have to do this a different way. I know that most of you were trying to fill it out and make progress but it only took one or a few of you in the class to waste my time and your friends time. For those of you mature enough and tried, I am sorry. For those of you who messed it up, I hope that you learn, and soon, that you are only hurting yourself and limiting your potential and future. It takes hard work and effort to make it in any business. Now, go to this form to fill out similar information. It will be recorded but cannot be altered. Skills Form. Then you can go and read about sound waves chapter 1. You need not only to read it but study it. Look for understand and key words in titles and bold print. We will be having a test on sound and acoustics soon.

Good Afternoon Class! Today is Wednesday the 15th of September. I appreciate your patients as I figure out the best way to organize this pilot music technology class. After a meeting yesterday, I have decided that a class blog is our best option to stay organized and on task. Everyday we will start the class by logging onto this blog and looking for our assignments. The links to the work we do will be right here so you don't have to search around the and look for the links. As an example, the following link will take you to a spread sheet I want you to fill out.Enter your name under the category that you feel applies to your talent and skill. After that, you should make sure you have done the following. 1. Signed up for a google docs account. 2. Turned in your student info sheet. 3. Turned in your 10 interesting facts about the music business. 4. Submitted your test on project management. If you have completed all of the above, you may use the rest of the day to check out this project form. You can also check out this link to RIAA. You will find a lot of information on the recording industry.
